Our Vision
We envision a world where trauma recovery through community support is possible for everyone.
Our Mision
Empower Individuals
By providing complimentary education and self-development programs, group support, and access to resources for those affected by psychological trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and compassion fatigue.
Heal and Connect Communities
By promoting mental health, post-trauma recovery and resiliency for everyone, including marginalized and vulnerable individuals, through a community-based approach.
Inspire Change
By reducing stigma and improving the conversation on trauma, we promote community health and inclusion through evidence-based education, evaluation, and research.
Our Leadership
Dr. Anna Baranowsky is the Founder and President of the Trauma Practice for Healthy Communities.
Due to a severe lack of trauma service provision, and growing income inequalities, Dr. Baranowsky recognized that long wait times and lack of skilled care in the public system meant limited access for many individuals seeking trauma services. As a result, Trauma Practice for Healthy Communities was born to build a new way of healing communities through accessible, expert-facilitated, and trauma-informed mental health care.
Dr. Baranowsky is a Clinical Psychologist and the current CEO of the Traumatology Institute. She has over eighteen years of experience working with trauma survivors and training professional care providers in this field nationally and internationally.
